It’s an afternoon built around resilience, community, and belonging, where fashion and philanthropy come together to support people who deserve every opportunity for independence and dignity.”
WEST PALM BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, October 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Ferd & Gladys Alpert Jewish Family Service (Alpert JFS) of Palm Beach County, a leading provider of mental health and social services, will host its inaugural “Resilience, Runway & Retail” luncheon on Nov. 2 in Palm Beach Gardens. The event will use fashion and philanthropy to raise support for programs that empower individuals with special needs to live with greater independence, dignity, and connection.— Tara Saltzman, Ph.D., senior director of development at Alpert JFS
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with boutiques remaining open until 2 p.m., at BallenIsles Country Club, 100 BallenIsles Circle, Palm Beach Gardens. The day will begin with a curated boutique marketplace, followed by a luncheon, program, and fashion show at 11:30 a.m.
Jason Solodkin will serve as emcee. The luncheon is Co-Chaired by Ellen Forrest, Amy Garelick, and Emily Grabelsky. Zelda Mason serves as Chair of Resource Development, and Jennifer Lesser serves as Alpert JFS Board Chair and President. The event is supported by a host committee of more than 100 dedicated women leaders from across Palm Beach County.
The marketplace will feature 25 curated pop-up boutiques from local retailers and specialty merchants, offering designer and fine jewelry, contemporary fashion, accessories, home décor, artisan gifts, specialty card and game collections, and one-of-a-kind finds. It will also showcase the Center for Belonging and Wellbeing (CBW) Artisan Collection, featuring handcrafted pieces created by residents and participants. Their work reflects creativity, determination, and the power of belonging, giving guests an opportunity to purchase meaningful items while celebrating these individuals' accomplishments.
A percentage of proceeds from participating vendors will benefit Levine Jewish Residential & Family Service (Levine JRFS) and Alpert JFS. “This is so much more than a fundraiser,” said Tara Saltzman, Ph.D., senior director of development at Alpert JFS. “It’s an afternoon built around resilience, community, and belonging, where fashion and philanthropy come together to support people who deserve every opportunity for independence and dignity. We can’t wait to celebrate what’s possible when a community shows up for one another.”
Siblings Jane Terker Perelman and Bruce Terker will be honored as Champions of Belonging for their leadership, generosity, and commitment to building a community where everyone belongs. Their sister, Beth, has lived in the Levine JRFS Apartment Program for nearly 25 years. The program supports adults with mental illness and developmental disabilities in leading fulfilling lives in a less restrictive setting.
In honor of their parents, Jane and Bruce recently made a $1 million endowment commitment to support operations at the newly opened Center for Belonging and Wellbeing.
Proceeds from the luncheon will fund Seeds of Chai, a CBW and Levine JRFS initiative to build a state-of-the-art hydroponic garden. The garden will enable adults with disabilities to grow their own food, connect socially with peers, and develop greater independence.
