NEW YORK, NY, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Original science-fiction feature recreates the look and techniques of a lost 1925 silent-film spectacle
Kineograph Moving Pictures LLC has announced plans for its first feature-film production, The Vautréian Axis: A Chronoscopic Fantasia, an original science-fiction film written by Steven S. Drachman and produced by Jen Emma Hertel through Juliet Echo Productions.
The filmmakers are developing The Vautréian Axis as though it were a science-fiction movie from 1925, with the elaborate sets, strange inventions and low-tech yet extravagant special effects that dazzled audiences of the silent era. The film will use modern digital technology to replicate the miniature sets, matte paintings and camera tricks of early cinema. Rick Cortez is the film’s Visual Effects Supervisor.
“This isn’t a science-fiction film set in the past,” says Hertel. “It’s what filmmakers in 1925 might have created if they'd had the ambition, resources, imagination and craziness to tell this story. We’re using modern technology to recreate the handmade magic of early science fiction cinema.”
The film is currently in development. Directing and casting announcements will follow.
