PARKER, CO, UNITED STATES, October 22, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Founder and Lead Consultant of Rise Up Leadership Consulting LLC Develops Equity-Driven Leaders Through Executive Coaching, Board Governance Training, Strategic Planning, and Mentorship
Parker, Colorado – Diana Roybal is the Founder and Lead Consultant of Rise Up Leadership Consulting LLC and a nationally respected education leader, published author, and leadership consultant. With about three decades of experience, her career has been defined by resilience, purpose, and a deep commitment to equity. Through her consulting firm, she offers executive coaching, leadership development, school board governance training, strategic planning, and mentorship, with a particular focus on supporting women leaders. She is also a keynote speaker, sharing lessons drawn from a career spent at nearly every level of K-12 leadership. Her guiding philosophy is that the power of belief creates a future of hope.
Diana’s journey began in early childhood education while she was raising her family. She advanced her education step by step, beginning with an associate’s degree from Aurora Community College and continuing through a teaching degree, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction, principal licensure, and ultimately a doctorate in Educational Leadership. Her academic record includes an Ed.S. from the University of Colorado Denver, an Ed.D. from the University of Phoenix, and both a Master of Education and Bachelor of Arts from Colorado Christian University. Each stage of her education opened the door to greater responsibility and broader impact. That persistence would become a hallmark of her leadership.
Throughout her career, Diana has served as a teacher, principal, executive director, assistant superintendent, and superintendent. She has led school and district improvement efforts in both Colorado and California, earning recognition for driving academic gains, strengthening systems, and deepening family and community engagement. She served as Superintendent of Goleta Union School District in California. Working at nearly every level of K-12 leadership gave her firsthand experience with the full range of responsibilities that shape public education, from instruction in a single classroom to governance across an entire district. She later returned to Colorado to care for her mother during her battle with Alzheimer’s, and she completed her public-school career as Assistant Superintendent of Performance Improvement for Cherry Creek School District. That decision to return home during such a difficult period reflected the same commitment to family that she describes as central to her values.
Today Diana directs statewide leadership and pipeline initiatives for the Colorado Association of Latino/a Administrators and Superintendents (CO-ALAS), where she mentors emerging leaders and works to expand equity-driven leadership opportunities. She also teaches aspiring school leaders at Regis University and partners with Teachers of Tomorrow to help diversify and strengthen the educator workforce. Through her volunteer work, she supports affinity spaces that help women and women of color grow professionally and advance in their careers. She is the author of The Leader’s Atlas: Principles for Navigating the Complexities of Educational Leadership, published in September 2026. Her work across these organizations reflects a single aim of preparing more leaders, and more diverse leaders, to serve students well.
Diana attributes her success to a three-part mindset of humility, learning, and belief. Humility keeps her open to growth because she knows she doesn’t have every answer. A commitment to continuous learning means asking questions and staying curious about her work and the people she serves. Belief means trusting her own capacity, approaching difficult challenges with confidence, and following through. In her experience, success comes from holding humility, curiosity, and confidence in balance. Together, these qualities have allowed her to keep growing at every stage, from her first classroom to the superintendent’s office.
The best career advice Diana has received is to stay centered on purpose. Purpose, she has found, makes even demanding work feel energizing rather than draining, and it sustains her in a way that effort alone cannot. She was also advised to surround herself with people whose work reflects integrity and impact, and to learn from them by observing, asking questions, and studying how they handle challenges. Staying rooted in purpose and close to strong role models has made her path clearer and her work more sustaining.
For young women entering educational leadership, Diana’s advice is not to wait to be recognized or invited. She encourages them to seek out opportunities actively and to be prepared to persist, sometimes repeatedly, until doors open. She urges them not to doubt their readiness or talk themselves out of possibilities. Instead, she wants them to trust their capability and preparation and to move with intention rather than waiting for permission. She believes that preparation, paired with the courage to step forward, is what turns potential into opportunity.
Diana sees her field as wide open for innovative voices, fresh leadership models, and new ways to support districts and educators. As she prepares to launch Rise Up Leadership Consulting, build its online presence, and release her book, the chance to shape this work around her purpose feels limitless to her. She also recognizes real challenges, including a saturated field in which standing out requires a distinct voice and brand. There is the difficulty of not knowing what one does not yet know, and growing a business, expanding its reach, and entering new spaces all require time, learning, and a tolerance for uncertainty. She views these challenges as invitations to grow, refine her work, and rise with clarity.
Investing in people is the core value that guides Diana’s work and personal life. She applies it in leading teams, mentoring colleagues, and supporting her family. Her goal is to uplift, encourage, and help others grow toward their full potential. Whether in a boardroom, a classroom, or at home, she aims to be the kind of leader who helps others discover what they are capable of. She feels her work matters most when it aligns with this purpose and builds relationships that reflect her ideals of leadership. She is a member of Colorado ALAS and Teachers of Tomorrow, organizations that share her commitment to developing strong, diverse educators.
Through her consulting, teaching, mentorship, and writing, Diana continues to develop the next generation of leaders and to create lasting impact through service, equity, and transformational leadership. Her career shows how steady growth, rooted in purpose, can carry an educator from the early childhood classroom to the superintendent’s office and beyond. By investing in others and modeling the power of belief, Diana Roybal is helping build a future of hope for students, educators, and communities.
