Expanded Role Recognizes Years of Contributions to Independent Community Oncology
WASHINGTON, DC, UNITED STATES, August 20, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Community Oncology Alliance (COA) today announced the promotion of Drew Lovejoy, MS, to Deputy Director of Communications. In his new role, Lovejoy will take on expanded responsibility for COA’s communications strategy and execution, supporting the organization’s advocacy for independent community oncology practices and the patients they serve.His responsibilities will include continuing to expand COA’s media relations efforts, helping ensure consistent messaging and branding across initiatives, and promoting resources and information for COA members and the broader independent oncology community.

Since joining COA in March 2020, Lovejoy has helped expand the organization’s communications reach and raise awareness of the policy, business, and clinical issues affecting community cancer care. He has helped secure coverage of COA and its work in prominent health care and trade publications, overseen branding and messaging for COA events including the annual Community Oncology Conference, and supported communications across COA’s professional networks and advocacy efforts.
Lovejoy has also become an increasingly visible representative of COA. Whether preparing members and advocates for media interviews, supporting patients and practices during advocacy events, or responding when plans change unexpectedly, he has developed a reputation for being knowledgeable, reliable, and ready to help.
As Deputy Director, Lovejoy will continue working closely with COA leadership, members, partners, and stakeholders to strengthen the organization’s communications and help ensure that the voice of independent community oncology is clear and effective.
