Dr. Mrs. S. Uma Gowrie, Principal and Secretary of the renowned Ethiraj College for Women, in Tamil Nadu, is the esteemed recipient of the RADA Annual Award 2024, which is a prestigious accolade given to an inspiring woman. RADA (Raise And Develop Association), pioneered by Carisma Solutions Pvt Ltd, a leading financial solutions partner and Purple Quay Pty Ltd, an innovative software solutions provider, confers this award annually to a woman who has not only elevated herself but also inspired and reshaped the lives of others, embodying the spirit of empowerment and positive change.
This eminent accolade, accompanied by a citation and a monetary reward of Rs. 25,000, stands as a compelling affirmation to Dr. Uma’s inspiring nature and outstanding contributions to both her field and the educational community; under her name, she holds a Gold medal as a Rank topper, remarkable 27 years in teaching, 20 years in research focused on Plant Biology and Biotechnology, 37 research papers, 15 book chapters, review articles and patented innovation.
Her passion for research has led her to 83 paper presentations for which she won 25 best paper awards. Epitomizing this year’s RADA Annual Day theme ‘Educate Empower Elevate’, as an educationalist she has guided the academic journeys of 6 Ph.D., 10 M.Phil., and 18 M.Sc. scholars, and currently offers her mentorship to 6 doctoral candidates. His visionary leadership has been pivotal in crafting this initiative in 2013 to empower women to explore their potential while maintaining a healthy work-life balance, promote gender diversity and equality as its priority. The RADA Annual Day 2024 is scheduled for March 20th and holds significance as it coincides with the month of International Women's Day.
The event will be a celebration of the theme empowerment, education, and elevation, bringing together more than 300+ working women, including 250 women from Carisma Solutions and Purple Quay, Australian clients, well-wishers and esteemed guests, both in-person and online. It will be graced by the Managing Principal of Forsyths, Australia, Mr. Andrew Kirk, as the Chief guest.
The distinguished guests include The Chairman of Ethiraj College, the CEO of Pollinate Group, the Director of Nursing at IHH Hospitals, India, Sr. Journalist Jennifer Arul, and other esteemed men and women. The event will also witness the release of the RADA Yearbook, a compilation reflecting the theme and featuring meaningful insights from leading women, showcasing the skills and awards received by Carisma Solutions and Purple Quay women, and more relevant content. Her tenure as the former COO of Hand-in-Hand International underscores her commitment to impactful microfinance initiatives, with her visionary approach earning her the Afghanistan President Award. 2022: Mrs. Archana Stalin, Social Entrepreneur and the founder of myHarvest Farms, a farm-to-home platform that enables Indian farmers to grow and sell organic produce and helps them improve their livelihoods.
As an engineer turned natural farmer, Archana’s vision is to make safe food available to all. She is passionate about eco-friendly living and bringing people closer to nature and good food. She is also a motivational speaker and educator who teaches sustainability and organic farming in schools.
