Designed for application during or immediately after pore-opening aesthetic procedures, Phyla PRO delivers targeted bacteriophages to help reduce acne-associated Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) while preserving the broader skin microbiome. Phyla’s findings build on a growing body of peer-reviewed research evaluating C. acnes-targeting bacteriophages. Research published in Nature Communications in 2023 reported reductions in bacterial load and inflammation in an in-vivo acne model, while a 2026 proof-of-concept study in Scientific Reports found that topical C. acnes phage therapy reduced inflammatory and non-inflammatory acne lesions in humans while selectively sparing other skin bacteria.
Phyla PRO has undergone Human Repeat Insult Patch Testing, with no irritation or sensitization observed under HRIPT conditions. The formula is made without fragrance, parabens, phthalates, alcohol, benzoyl peroxide or drying agents.
