Speakers 2026

National leaders, healthcare professionals and community voices will convene Sept. 24–25 to advance health, mobility and equitable solutions.

DETROIT, MI, UNITED STATES, September 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Movement Is Life, a national nonprofit committed to addressing health disparities through movement, education, community-based programming and advocacy, will host its 2026 Health Summit September 24–25 at the Fort Pontchartrain Detroit.

Under the theme “Strength in Motion: Reimagining Health Through Community, Policy, and Partnership,” the two-day Summit will bring together healthcare professionals, researchers, policymakers, advocates, community leaders and people with lived experience to explore practical approaches to improving health and mobility.

The Summit is designed to connect clinical expertise with community knowledge while creating space for meaningful conversations about women’s health, health disparities and the social and structural factors affecting health outcomes.
“Bringing the Movement Is Life Health Summit to Detroit is especially meaningful as we unite national expertise with the strength, innovation and lived experience already present in this community,” said Danielle Hilliker, president and CEO of Movement Is Life. “Sustainable change requires healthcare professionals, policymakers and communities to work together. This Summit creates a space where those perspectives are not only represented, but valued as essential to building solutions that improve health and mobility.”

Featured speakers include Olympic medalist Kimberly Glass; Renée Roberts, MD, of RMR Ventures, LLC; and Dr. Standifer-Barrett, a board-certified internist and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner. The Summit will offer keynote presentations, interactive workshops, panel discussions and opportunities to build connections across the healthcare, nonprofit, philanthropic and community sectors.

Additional experiences will include the PowHer Pitch Competition, where women innovators will present community-rooted solutions addressing health inequities, and National Poster Presentations featuring research, programs and initiatives from across the country. Attendees will also learn about community-based programs such as Operation Change, Movement Is Life’s signature 12-week program designed to help women improve their mobility and overall well-being. Continuing education opportunities will be available for eligible physicians, nurses and physician assistants participating in approved Summit sessions. Final credit totals and eligibility requirements will be provided through the Summit registration platform.

The Summit experience will begin Wednesday, September 23, with a VIP Reception hosted by the Movement Is Life Board of Directors from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Top of the Ponch inside the Fort Pontchartrain Detroit. The reception will provide an additional opportunity for speakers, sponsors, partners and attendees to connect before the formal Summit begins.
