HO CHI MINH, HO CHI MINH, VIETNAM, August 19, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Southern Gas Trading Joint Stock Company (“Gas South” or “PGS”), a Vietnam-based publicly listed gas company, has outlined its 2026 business priorities following the approval of its plans at the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.

Building on 25 years of development and an established distribution platform, Gas South will focus on operational efficiency in its core liquefied petroleum gas (“LPG”) business while continuing to develop compressed natural gas (“CNG”) and prepare for liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) development in response to evolving market demand.

In 2025, Gas South recorded LPG sales volume of 205,886 tonnes, exceeding its annual target by 4.8%. Revenue reached VND 6,427.86 billion, while profit before tax was VND 141.75 billion, surpassing the company’s plan by 0.8%. The company reported profit after tax of more than VND 115 billion and total assets exceeding VND 2,553 billion.

Stable Performance in a Changing Market

Gas South’s 2025 performance was achieved amid competitive pressure across LPG, CNG and alternative-fuel markets. Residential LPG volume reached 144,839 tonnes, while bulk LPG volume reached 107.01% of plan. The company’s new cylinder production reached 121.48% of plan.

Gas South operates four LPG warehouses with combined storage capacity of 8,100 tonnes, 17 LPG filling stations with monthly throughput of nearly 20,000 tonnes, and a nationwide network of more than 1,300 agents and general agents. The company also operates an LPG cylinder manufacturing and painting facility with annual capacity of one million cylinders.

Gas South was established in 2000 as the Southern Gas Products Trading Enterprise under PV Gas, initially with 16 employees, charter capital of VND 10 billion and annual LPG volume of approximately 5,000 tonnes. Over the past 25 years, the company has expanded from a Southern Vietnam-focused LPG supplier into a gas business with operations extending from Ca Mau to Nghe An.

2026 Plan Prioritizes Resilience and Efficiency

For 2026, Gas South has adopted a prudent and flexible business plan designed to support sustainable growth amid potential volatility in oil prices, Contract Price (“CP”) movements and other input costs.

The company targets revenue of VND 6,501.5 billion, profit before tax of VND 128.6 billion and LPG sales volume of 201,606 tonnes. Gas South expects modest growth in its natural gas business and continues to prepare for the development of LNG offerings.

The company has proposed a cash dividend of 18% for 2026, following a 20% cash dividend for 2025, equivalent to VND 100 billion in total distributions.

At the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, shareholders authorized the Board of Directors to adjust business plans and profit-distribution arrangements should significant changes occur in oil prices, CP prices or other key input factors.

Developing CNG and LNG Opportunities

LPG remains Gas South’s principal business foundation. The company supplies LPG cylinders to residential customers and provides LPG and CNG products and services for commercial, industrial and transportation applications. Gas South is also preparing to expand its LNG offering as part of its longer-term energy portfolio.

Gas South is focusing on practical development by aligning its gas products and services with customer requirements, improving service quality, applying technology to operations and strengthening customer experience across its distribution network.

The company aims to broaden its market reach, including further development in Northern Vietnam, while maintaining a focus on safety, reliability and customer service.

Commitment to Stakeholders and Communities

Gas South remains committed to creating long-term value for customers, employees, shareholders and communities. In 2025, average employee income reached VND 18.11 million per person per month, 9% above plan.

The company supports community initiatives, environmental-protection programs and campaigns promoting the safe use of energy as part of its commitment to responsible business practices.

At the 2026 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, Mr. Hoang Viet Dung was elected as an additional member of the Board of Directors for the 2026–2031 term, receiving 100% approval from participating voting shares. PV Gas, Gas South’s largest shareholder, holds 35.26% of the company’s shares.
