The investment will support development of its platform, strengthen dataset evaluation capabilities and expand its network of contributors and robotics partners.

Embra brings together dataset discovery, evaluation and sourcing, helping robotics teams find and assess training data relevant to the tasks, environments and machines they are developing. The platform supports multimodal datasets spanning video, sensor measurements, robot state and actions.

The company is working with three robotics teams to evaluate datasets for robot training and has completed its first curated dataset deliveries. These early collaborations are helping shape the platform around partners’ practical development needs, from identifying gaps in available data to assessing its suitability for specific tasks.

Teaching a robot to grasp an unfamiliar object, coordinate a handover or recover from a failed pickup requires data that captures what the robot sees, how it moves and what happens when conditions change. Embra helps teams evaluate whether datasets capture these signals effectively, with attention to sensor coverage, synchronization and annotation quality.
