IAOTP honors a select group of professionals annually based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities and community contributions. Williamson will be recognized for this honor and her selection as Top Outstanding Producer and Host of the Year at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala this December at The Plaza Hotel in New York. A Legacy of Media Excellence and Innovation

With more than 30 years of industry experience, Williamson works as a host, writer and producer for PBS in Los Angeles, overseeing public affairs programming from research and script development to interviews and digital strategy.

Her award-winning series, “Everybody with Angela Williamson,” is in its tenth season. The program highlights the human spirit by sharing stories of individuals making community impacts. Season 11 is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, Oct. 7.

Preserving History: The Rosa Parks Legacy

An Emmy-nominated documentary filmmaker and author, Williamson uses her platform to honor her cousin, civil rights icon Rosa Parks. Her documentary, “My Life With Rosie,” has won numerous awards at national and international film festivals.

Her book, “My Life With Rosie: A Bond Between Cousins,” was named the best children’s book on Black history by Mothering magazine. By sharing an intimate family perspective, Williamson teaches the next generation how to become effective change agents.

Educator and Industry Leader

Williamson is an adjunct associate professor at Rio Hondo College, where she teaches mass media and speech communication to students in the East Los Angeles County Dual Enrollment program. She also recently accepted a one-year contract as a lecturer in the Department of Business at California State University, Fullerton, where she will teach business communication writing.

Academic Foundation
