The Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, will undertake a significant three-day official visit to Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, from June 19 to 21, 2025. The visit is part of the President's continued efforts to engage with states and support initiatives that promote cultural preservation, sustainable development, and public welfare.

In anticipation of the high-level visit, the Government of Uttarakhand and local administrative bodies have made elaborate arrangements to ensure seamless coordination, security, and protocol throughout the President’s stay. Officials from various departments are working in close collaboration to facilitate all necessary logistics, site inspections, and ceremonial arrangements.

During her visit, President Murmu will lay the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art public park, which will be developed across 132 acres of land along Rajpur Road, one of Dehradun’s most iconic and scenic stretches. This project is envisioned as a vibrant green space for recreation, environmental learning, and community engagement. Designed with modern landscaping, open areas for citizens, and eco-sensitive infrastructure, the park will contribute meaningfully to the city’s sustainable urban development goals. The project is expected to be completed within the next year and will be dedicated to the public upon completion.

A key cultural highlight of the visit will be the announcement of public access to the historic Rashtrapati Niketan—formerly known as Rashtrapati Ashiyana—starting from June 24, 2025. Spread over 24 acres, this presidential estate holds deep historical and cultural significance. The estate will now be open for citizens and tourists, showcasing a rare collection of artefacts, along with beautifully maintained natural elements such as the Lily Talab, Rokari Talab, and an enchanting Rose Garden. The decision to open Rashtrapati Niketan to the public reflects the ongoing vision of making India’s rich institutional heritage more accessible to its people.

In addition to these developments, the President will also formally dedicate the Rashtrapati Tapovan, a serene and thoughtfully designed 19-acre retreat nestled in natural surroundings. Conceived as a spiritual and contemplative space, Tapovan features winding walking trails, rustic wooden bridges, shaded meditation spots, and extensive greenery. It aims to provide a tranquil environment for introspection, mindfulness, and harmony with nature.

The upcoming presidential visit symbolizes the convergence of national leadership with local aspirations. It highlights the Government of India’s focus on creating inclusive, culturally rooted, and environmentally conscious spaces that serve the long-term interests of citizens.
