The New York honor follows another Double Gold at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition, where Black Sheep Añejo also secured its third Platinum recognition — adding to an awards history that includes Best Overall Tequila and Best in Class Añejo.

From a Single Estate in Jalisco
Black Sheep begins with 100% Blue Weber Highland agave grown on a single estate in Jalisco, Mexico.
The brand grew from the friendship between Tennessee entrepreneur Jason Charles and Rodolfo Tabarez, a fifth-generation Mexican agave farmer whose family's knowledge of agave and the land extends across generations.
Fully mature Highland Blue Weber agave is carefully selected for harvest. Black Sheep employs a rare traditional jima technique followed by a deliberate production process that includes slow, open-air fermentation and old-world-style craftsmanship designed to preserve the natural character of the agave.
