Answering Questions, Recruiting No One: Noahide Movement to Gather in Jerusalem This November

Nearly 100 Noahide leaders from 20 countries will gather in Jerusalem, a movement that recruits no one and grows by answering the questions it is asked.

For two thousand years, the prophets' vision of the nations turning toward Jerusalem remained a promise on the page. This Congress is the moment the page opens.”
— Rabbi Oury Cherki, President of Brit Olam
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- JERUSALEM, ISRAEL, 09/02/2026. Thousands of years ago, the Prophets of Israel described two distinct historical processes: the return of the Jewish people to their ancestral homeland, and a free, sovereign turn of individuals and nations toward the moral light and Emuna radiating from Jerusalem. The first unfolded before the eyes of recent generations and became a settled fact. The second is taking visible form this November, when the First International Congress of Noahides convenes in Jerusalem on November 2–6, 2026, at the Seven Arches Hotel on the Mount of Olives, with nearly one hundred Noahide leaders from some twenty countries across six continents.
Noahides are non-Jews who order their lives by the Seven Commandments, the universal covenant that Jewish tradition holds was given to all humanity. Their communities have grown steadily across North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. What distinguishes this growth is what is absent from it: there is no missionary apparatus behind it. Brit Olam, the Noahide World Center, the Jerusalem-based organization convening the Congress under the presidency of Rabbi Oury Cherki, does not recruit, campaign, or persuade. Its work runs in the opposite direction: it answers questions that arrive on their own, from individuals and communities across more than twenty languages, and the questions keep coming.
What such a question looks like: “Are there any other Noahides near me? I have felt alone for years, ever since I declared myself a daughter of Noah.” Lara's email from Texas arrived at Brit Olam's Jerusalem offices. Letters like hers reach Jerusalem every week.
“Every week we receive words like these, from Texas, from Manchester, from Nairobi. No one went looking for these people. They went looking for us,” said Rabbi Yehuda HaKohen, head of the English department at Brit Olam.
The Congress carries the blessings of Israel's Chief Rabbis and the support of ministers in the Israeli government, and includes an official reception at Beit HaNasi, the Residence of the President of Israel. The program combines study sessions with leading rabbis, working groups on community building, and the signing of a Founding Charter. Emuna, the lived trust and vision described by the prophet Habakkuk, stands at the center of the study program.
“We are not recruiting anyone, and we are not engaged in persuasion. What one generation struggles to contain because of the fears of the past, the coming generations will see as self-evident. There is no ambition here to create a uniform world religion that erases the distinct identity of any nation. We simply open a gate for those already seeking it. Blessings of peace and justice to all the nations, from Jerusalem,” said Rabbi Oury Cherki, President of Brit Olam.
