Kansas City festival brings visual art, fashion, live music, food trucks and community experiences to Historic 18th & Vine.

KANSAS CITY, MO, UNITED STATES, August 24, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The 18th & Vine Arts Festival Foundation will present the 4th Annual 18th & Vine Arts Festival September 25–27, 2026, in Kansas City’s Historic 18th & Vine District.

The three-day festival will bring together more than 100 visual artists and makers, nine fashion designers, musicians and performers, DJs, more than 11 participating food trucks throughout the weekend, family experiences, cultural programming, and community activities.

The festival is designed to create opportunities for artists and entrepreneurs while inviting Kansas City residents and visitors to experience the creativity, history and cultural significance of the Historic 18th & Vine District.

Festival hours are Friday, September 25, from 5–10 p.m.; Saturday, September 26, from 11 a.m.–10 p.m.; and Sunday, September 27, from 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Day passes are $10 and weekend passes are $20. Tickets and festival information are available at 18thAndVineArtsFestival.com.

More Than 100 Artists Coming to 18th & Vine

Visual art remains at the festival's center.

More than 100 artists and makers have already signed up for the 2026 festival, allowing attendees to explore artist booths, meet creators face-to-face, and purchase original work directly from the people who created it.

The Foundation has developed an artist-first participation model intended to reduce financial barriers for visual artists. Artists submit a $50 application fee, and accepted visual artists pay no separate booth fee to participate.

Visual artist applications remain open for a limited time as organizers complete the 2026 lineup.

Friday: Rock the Runway

Festival weekend begins Friday with Rock the Runway, bringing fashion and visual creativity together through wearable art.

Nine designers are part of the current 2026 fashion lineup, showcasing original concepts and designs during an evening combining fashion, music, art and festival entertainment.

The program reflects the festival’s broader approach to recognizing creativity in multiple forms, from painting and music to fashion and design.

Saturday: Live on the Vine

Saturday features a full day of visual art, food, music and cultural programming, including Live on the Vine, the festival’s emerging artist performance competition.

Singers, musicians and performers will take the festival stage while attendees explore artist booths, food trucks, DJs and experiences throughout the Historic 18th & Vine District.

Live on the Vine was created to provide emerging performers with greater visibility and opportunities to connect with new audiences.

Sunday: Soulful Sunday — A Taste of Renaissance

The festival concludes Sunday with Soulful Sunday — A Taste of Renaissance, bringing together Black culinary arts, food, live music, culture, competition, family experiences, and community.

Soulful Sunday will also include culinary competition experiences such as the Chicken Wing Challenge and a festival food truck competition. Winners will receive custom 2026 Soulful Sunday Championship Trophies.

Food Trucks and Culinary Entrepreneurs

More than 11 food trucks are participating throughout festival weekend, providing attendees with a variety of food and dessert options.

Food truck applications remain open while organizers complete the festival vendor lineup.

Kansas City Invited to Help Paint the Festival

Ahead of festival weekend, the Foundation will host Paint the Vine: Community Yard Sign Paint Party on Monday, August 31, from 6–9 p.m. at Keystone CoLAB, 800 E. 18th Street in Kansas City.

The Foundation purchased 100 festival yard signs featuring the event name and dates. Instead of producing 100 identical signs, artists, families, young creatives, and community members will be invited to transform the signs into individual works of art.

Following the event, the completed signs will be displayed throughout Kansas City to promote the festival.

The free community activation is being presented in partnership with ArtsTech.

Applications, Sponsorships and Support Remain Open

With festival weekend approaching, the Foundation continues to accept visual artist applications, food truck applications, festival sponsorships, and charitable donations.

Official festival T-shirts and merchandise are also available.

Businesses and organizations interested in sponsorship can support programming that creates opportunities for artists, musicians, designers, young creatives, culinary entrepreneurs, and local businesses.

The Historic 18th & Vine District holds an important place in Kansas City’s Black history, jazz legacy, entrepreneurship, and cultural identity. The 18th & Vine Arts Festival seeks to honor that legacy while creating opportunities for the next generation of artists and entrepreneurs.

The festival encourages attendees not simply to observe art, but to meet artists, purchase their work, and directly support Kansas City’s creative community.
